Promises Fulfilled—the God Who Keeps His Word 

Below are some of the hundreds of “joy” texts. (NLT, 2nd ed.) 

Matt 2.10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!  

Matt 13.2 The rocky soil represents those who hear the message and receive it with joy. 

Lk 1.14 You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice with you at his birth. 

Lk 1.44  When you came in and greeted me, my baby jumped for joy the instant I heard your voice! 

Lk 2.10 ….but the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news of great joy for everyone!” 

Lk 2.34 Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, "This child will be rejected by many in Israel, and it will be their undoing. But he will be the greatest joy to many others.” 

Lk 6.21 God blesses you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. God blesses you who weep now, for the time will come when you will laugh with joy. 

Lk 6.23 "When that happens, rejoice! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were also treated that way by your ancestors.” 

Lk 15.10 “In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents." 

Lk 19.6 Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 

Lk 24.52 They worshiped him and then returned to Jerusalem filled with great joy. 

Jn 4.36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! 

Jn 15.11 I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 

Jn 16.22 You have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. 

Jn 17.13 "And now I am coming to you. I have told them many things while I was with them so they would be filled with my joy.”

Acts 2.28 ‘You have shown me the way of life, and you will give me wonderful joy in your presence.' 

Acts 2.46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity. 

Rom 4.7 "Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.” 

Rom 14.17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 

Gal 5.22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. 

Phil 1.4 I always pray for you, and I make my requests with a heart full of joy.

Heb 10.34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail. When all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew you had better things waiting for you in eternity. 

Heb 12.2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward. 

Jas 1.2 Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. 

3 Jn. 1.4 I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children live in the truth.
