MISSION STATEMENT:
We are a fellowship serving God through a ministry in music. It is our joyful
mission to praise God and proclaim His message to His people and all who
seek His spirit. We willingly share this ministry of encouragement and
support through rehearsals and worship services. We will shout with joy
before the Lord and come to Him with glorious praise.
Our goals in the Ministry of Music are several:
1. To beautify and enhance worship through music and other arts
2. To educate our children in the function of music in worship and to
further their Christian faith and education through the tests of hymns and
anthems
3. To give opportunities for fellowship and service to all members of the
church through God's gifts of music
Music opportunities are always available to new members and all are
encouraged to participate. The only requirement is that one must have a
true desire to be of regular and dedicated service. Child care is provided
during adult choir rehearsals.
Director of Music:
Nancy Lungren joined the worship staff in 1987 as the Director of Music.
She, her husband Jeff, and their daughters Holly, Heidi and Heather have
been long-term residents of Grove where she was the former choir Director
of the Grove Public Schools. Her responsibilities involve the supervision of
all music ministries.
Chancel Choir:
The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the
choir room. New members are always welcome. The choir participates in
worship service every Sunday in the 10:45 worship service. Thirty to forty
singers participate in this music ministry every Sunday and the group is
considered by many to be one of the finest choirs in the area.
Celebration Ringers:
The Celebration Ringers are a full hand bell choir who rehearse each week
on Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. This group participates in frequent
services of worship.
Kings Kids:
Children are encouraged to participate in the music ministry at an early age
by joining Kings Kids. As pictured here, the group participated in Psalm
Sunday special music.
Special Music:
Special Music is provided by soloists, ensembles, instrumentalists and
other artists. The offerings of these individuals and groups are given freely
each week and provide opportunities for guests and members to participate
in the music ministry regardless of age or relationship to the ongoing music
programs. Interested persons need to contact our Director of Music to
make arrangements for scheduling and rehearsals.
