A Great Church Forever
The Endowment Program was established in March, 1998 for the purpose of providing members and
friends of First United Methodist Church of Grove, Oklahoma, opportunities to make charitable gifts that will
become a permanent endowment of financial support and a living memorial. As such, gifts are not a part of
the church's established programs which are funded through the annual operating budget of the church
and the regular giving of its members.
We Can Secure the Future - Share the Vision
Endowment funds can help churches in many ways. As permanent funds, they produce perpetual annual
income for projects, ministries, and support as directed either by the donor or by the Permanent
Endowment Fund Committee if the donor does not specify purposes for the endowment. The objectives of
the Endowment Program are to conserve principal and make use of only the distributions determined by
the Endowment Fund Committee. Significant restrictions apply to the withdrawal of any part of the
principal.
There are positive examples of good that can be accomplished with endowment funds. Capital
expenditures can be made without placing a burden on the operating budget; scholarships can provide a
way to go to church camp, on a VIM trip, or for a member to attend college; mission projects can be
supported; youth ministry can be enhanced; music ministry can be enriched; and new ministries can be
underwritten.
.
To date, $60,000 has been donated to the Endowment Program. The United Methodist Foundation of
Oklahoma has been selected as Trustee of the Endowment Program. The United Methodist Foundation
holds all moneys and properties of the Program and is responsible for the supervision, investment and
management of all such trust funds. In addition to this service, The United Methodist Foundation of
Oklahoma offers information and services, including:
1. Assistance in the preparation of your will and estate planning.
2. Receiving and administering you gifts to the Church.
3. Serving as Trustee of life income gifts.

Gift Planning Opportunities - Tithe You Will
Your gifts to the Endowment Program combined with others can help meet the church's ministry needs
forever. Using your assets to enhance ministries for tomorrow's adults, youth and children is a sacred
response. United Methodists understand the concept of tithing but often fail to consider that gifts received
from God may be tithed from their wills as well.
Donations to the Endowment Program can be made during your lifetime or as a charitable bequest through
your estate plan. There are a number of creative estate planning opportunities that will benefit you as much
as your church. The following is a list of the many optional methods of giving to the Endowment Program
that may be considered:
Gifts of Cash
Gifts of Securities and Real Estate
Gifts of Tangible Personal Property
Gifts of Life Insurance
Bargain Sales
The Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust
The Charitable Remainder Unitrust
The Charitable Lead Trust
Gift of Your Home
The Charitable Gift Annuity
